The method chosen was seven semi-structured interviews with different professions that work at a primary health care center in Southern Sweden that uses the organizational model IBH. The professions that were interviewed were counselors, psychologists, nurses, doctors as well as physiotherapists.

The collected empirical data was analyzed with the support of the theory of professions and the theory of cooperation and interprofessional teams.

The results showed that the IBH model contributes to increased interprofessional collaboration at the primary healthcare center. Another finding was that the model contributes to an increased focus on the work with mental health and that the professions that primarily work with these patients, that is the counselors and psychologists, get a more prominent and central role. The study also showed that all of the interviewed professions saw clear benefits with the model and the interprofessional collaboration that the model contributes to. The counselors and psychologists become more integrated at the care center and the other professions are relieved in different ways when they get support in how mental health can be handled. (Less)
