(2022) PSYK11 20221Department of Psychology
- Abstract
- The aim of this study was to examine if Tik Tok has an effect on visual working memory (VWM) compared to other social media usage (SMU). The VWM temporarily stores visual and spatial information, and works with the attention system. No previous research has been done on the effect TikTok usage (TTU) has on cognitive functions. Previous research around SMU and VWM is slim and shows mixed results. However, there are broad studies around SMU and attention that shows a negative correlation. The current study was carried out with a survey where the participants defined their average use of TikTok the latest week. Embedded with the survey the participants performed a Corsi-test that calculates VWM. The result of 91 participants in the ages 18 to... (More)

There was no significant correlation between other SMU and VAM. (Less)
- Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

(Less)
