In the participants' stories it arises a divide between the nonprofit organizations and
the activist networks' goals with their engagements. It also develops that some of the practices that the participants do to show support and care, can enable the Swedish migration agency (Migrationsverket) to continue the border- and migration processes without getting criticized. An ambivalence arises, as there are opportunities to create a more equal society for individuals in a precarious situation and at the same time there are risks of expanding oppressive bordering processes that arise within detention.
