- Abstract
- Smartphone technology has found its way into our lives and homes, from children to elders. Most of us use it frequently and even when we are on a screen break, the phone is still at arm’s reach. We nowadays find ourselves glancing or tapping the screen in awe. For pre-teens and specially teens, the use of this social networks has become and essential tool for them to be seen and heard.
At the beginning of the project, the sole purpose was to investigate if the constant use of smartphones could have a negative effect on the future of social relationships but this had an unexpected development since it was a user-centered driven project and so the users have a lot to say on the matter.

The project started in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. The Design department and workshop space at Lund University closed their doors, and so the thesis was developed remotely. That meant I could not try as many physical iterations as I would have wished for, and the project scope changed from getting a final design to a concept design. (Less)
