Digital Twin, development of a monitoring and analytical tool

Abstract
The production of batteries is a substantially complex process, and it is a process with which Saft AB is greatly familiarised. In order to produce the number of batteries Saft AB does, they need to ensure that all stages of production adhere to a certain standard. This project’s purpose aimed to develop a user focused, interactive tool for Saft AB with the capability to monitor and analyse the data collected by sensors in the production line.
The process of tackling obstacles throughout the projects course was done through research, development, revisions, meetings and following interaction design prin- ciples. The production of batteries is a substantially complex process, and it is a process with which Saft AB is greatly familiarised. In order to produce the number of batteries Saft AB does, they need to ensure that all stages of production adhere to a certain standard. This project’s purpose aimed to develop a user focused, interactive tool for Saft AB with the capability to monitor and analyse the data collected by sensors in the production line.
The process of tackling obstacles throughout the projects course was done through research, development, revisions, meetings and following interaction design prin- ciples. Once a necessary amount of knowledge was gained, the thesis workers produced an SRS document to help structure requirements. The development and revision phase was by implementing functionalities and revising them. Meet- ings with the supervisor from Saft AB were held throughout the course of the project to ensure that the goal remained clear. Usability testing resulted with a unified dark theme of the software with design principles followed to ensure good usability.
Mixing together the different chapters and sections of the process made the tool a reality. The degree project resulted with a web-based analytical tool which can load substantially large data files and present them in the form of a line chart. The website is composed of two pages, an Analytical Page and a Sensor List Page. The Sensor List Page presents all data collected by the sensors in a data table with numerous filtering options. Exporting and importing any number of sensors is also supported. On the Analytical Page sits the main components of the software. The page visualises the sensor measurements in a graph where a user can add any number of sensors to be monitored. The tool also has the capability to zoom in and pan on the graph so that one may get a more detailed view of the measurements. (Less)

Webbplatsen består av två sidor, en Analytical Page och en Sensor List Page. Sensor List sidan presenterar all data som samlats in av sensorerna i en datatabell med många filtreringsalternativ. Exportering och importering av ett valfritt antal sensorer stöds också. På den analytiska sidan sitter huvudkomponenterna i programvaran. Sidan visualiserar sensormätningarna i en graf där en användare kan lägga till ett valfritt an- tal sensorer som ska övervakas. Verktyget har också möjlighet att zooma in och panorera på grafen så att man kan få en mer detaljerad bild av mätningarna. (Less)
