- Abstract
- The topic of this thesis is to study which women are represented in hair-adds, -advice and -articles. Also, to study in what way representation has changes from 1970s to 21st century. The study is based on eighty-seven volumes from the magazine Veckorevyn from the period 1970-2000. The results shown that representation is mainly white woman, and this reflecting how society views women of other nationalities. The white woman becomes the woman who gets to represent an entire society and a norm. Same thing with the heterosexually relationship, the pictures only show white couple. My analysis also shown that women are categorized according to their hair and hairstyles, good or bad, respectable, or not respectable. A woman of another... (More)
