Abstract
The aim of this study was to contribute to the integration between personality psychology and cognitive psychology by studying which factors of personality that could potentially be particularly prone to cognitive biases. A total of 380 participants completed an online survey consisting of a Bias Blindspot Scale, Confirmation Bias Scale (Confirmation Invertory: CI), Correspondence Bias (NED-scale), Big Five Personality test (IPIP-30) and an intelligence test (ICAR). Intelligence and personality factors conscientiousness, neuroticism and agreeableness correlated significantly with different biases, therefore a hypothetical construct called superbias was constructed. It consisted of every bias included in the study to investigate a potential... (More)

Intelligence and personality factors conscientiousness, neuroticism and agreeableness correlated significantly with different biases, therefore a hypothetical construct called superbias was constructed. It consisted of every bias included in the study to investigate a potential common denominator. A relationship between conscientiousness (r=0.15**) and IQ (r=-0.22***) was found. The implications of the results are discussed in relation to crystallized and fluid intelligence, as well as the properties of correlating personality factors. In summary, the study shows a relationship between personality factors and cognitive biases, which indicates that some people are more prone to cognitive biases than others. (Less)
Abstract (Swedish)
(Less)
