- Abstract
- The following research study will examine the relation between individuals consumption patterns and a desire to be socially included in a specific group identity through a semi-structured interview study with six participants all residing in either Lund or Malmö. In the case of this study Bauman’s theory of how second hand consumption functions as a means for individuals to construct an identity that is deemed valuable in the specific social field that they act within will be applied to understand the correlation between consumption and group identity.
