Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

Tre vitt skilda organisationer inkluderades i studien (N = 76). (Less)
Abstract
Racism is a phenomenon that seems to be able to shift shape and adjust to current circumstances. Therefore, it needs to be battled at all times to minimize exclusion and suffering. Furthermore, it is driven by underlying psychological mechanisms that have proven very difficult to counteract. A plethora of methods have been developed with the aim of reducing prejudice, which is considered the affective driving force behind discrimination. The goal with this study was to construct a tool that works in an organizational setting, which can be used as an active intervention to combat discrimination in accordance with the discrimination act. It combines methods that each have proven effective in reducing prejudice, but that previously have not... (More)

It combines methods that each have proven effective in reducing prejudice, but that previously have not been validated in this combination. A quasi experimental design with switching replications and two experimental phases was used with the aim to assess if the equality training leads to reduced prejudice. Three vastly different organizations were included in the study (N = 76). The results showed significant prejudice reduction with a medium effect size, which were replicated in the second experimental phase. The equality training showed partially persistent effects which are discussed from the perspective that interventions may need time to sink in. Resistance is further discussed as an obstacle that must be managed for a prejudice reduction intervention to be successful. More studies are needed to determine optimal length and intensity for the equality training to best provide long term changes. (Less)
