Abstract
This project is an investigation of natural materials and sustainable construction techniques. It is important to implement sustainable materials to help protect the environment.

Opportunities in agricultural waste were found and wheat straw in particular. Wheat straw as a building material was approached by researching its historical and future areas of use. The project presents two chairs that use wheat straw, and in some parts also soil and wood. These materials are compostable, local within Skåne, and cheap to manufacture. The chairs can be mass-produced and compete with existing manufacturing methods and materials.

Circular design drove all aspects of the process, from production, application, and distribution to waste.
