- Detta arbete är ett sökande efter träets plats i staden och tar avstamp i en kritik mot hur trä allt oftare blir en del av stadsbilden utan att varken som eget objekt utrycka en rik gestaltning eller harmonisera med den kontext av sten, puts och tegelhus som omger dem. Likt hur tegel efter modernismens avtagande intresse för materialet, genomgick en pånyttfödelse vilket resulterade i nya uttrycksformer som tegelexpressionism, krävs ett undersökande kring nya uttryck i trä. Hur ska materialet som mestadels återfinns i en mer lantlig kontext ta form i staden och röra sig mot det urbana? Kan uttryck som går mot karaktärsdrag vilka vi ser som inneboende urbana, såsom permanens och en tektonisk tyngd uppnås? I detta arbete söker jag svar på... (More)

I detta arbete söker jag svar på dessa frågor genom ett antal gestaltande projekt i en av Sveriges kanske mest känsliga urbana miljöer. På Stora gråbrödersgatan dras dessa frågor till sin spets och varje gestaltande projekt undersöker en aspekt i närmare detalj. (Less)

- This work is a search for wood's place in the city and is based on a critical evaluation of how wood increasingly becomes part of the cityscape without expressing rich design in its own right or harmonizing with the context of stone, plaster and brick houses that make up our urban streets. In the same way that brick, after modernism's waning interest in the material, underwent a rebirth which resulted in new forms of expression such as "brick expressionism", new expressions in wood are calling to be investigated. How should the material that is mostly found in a more rural context take shape in the city and move towards the urban?
