- Abstract
- This project examines the potential design of a visitor center named ”Stenens Hus” in Hunnebostrand, Sweden. The village was a prominent stone quarrying community in the 20th century, and the quarrying industry left its mark on the town even after it was shut down in the 1970s.

Today, Udden is a popular recreational spot and its future development has been a delicate matter in the community for many years. In 2009, the municipality planned to exploit the area with apartment buildings, offices and a hotel, but loud protests from the locals led to the project being shut down.
The proposed visitor center would complement the existing stone sculpture exhibition that’s been taking place on the site every year since 2011. It would also serve as a center for the promotion and understanding of the bohus granite and the quarry history. The purpose of this project is to explore how the center can be designed to best interact with and enhance the mountain and the site. (Less) - Abstract (Swedish)
(Less)
