The purpose of this study was, through a survey based on Herzberg's hygiene factors, to find out what factors are most important to the staff and what possible differences exist between, for example, different age groups and employment categories at the First Submarine Flotilla. The study shows that there are indeed differences and that the most important hygiene factor is the "management's competence and leadership". Other hygiene factors that ranked high are "job security", "salary and other benefits" and "policies, routines and administration". In these areas, contributions to get the workforce to thrive, stay and grow are likely to have the best impact. (Less)
