- In a recent survey made on behalf of The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency it
shows that 37 per cent of the Swedish population meet the governmental
recommendations about civilian readiness during a societal emergency. In a
different survey about interpersonal trust the results show that approximately 40 per cent of the people in Sweden do not feel high levels of trust towards others.
This study main purpose is to examine if there is a connection between different
levels of interpersonal trust and if people adhere to the governmental guidelines

A web-based survey was used as method of collecting quantitative data.
The results from this study show that citizens with a low level of interpersonal trust are better prepared for a societal emergency and people with employment in
branches categorized as vital societal functions and critical to infrastructure also prepare better. (Less)
