They can all be understood as contributing to the decision to terminate the policy, however to various extent. The research finds the political ideology to be the most influential as it also affects the understanding of the other mechanisms. In summary, the decision to terminate the feminist foreign policy is to be understood as a complex process and highlights the multifaceted understanding of international matters. Further, this research hopes to have added to the existing feminist research by proving its relevance in this setting, as to have shed a light on how to conceptualize and apply policy termination theory.
