- Abstract
- This Master’s thesis is a qualitative analysis of the content of two websites belonging to the National Archives of Australia and the National Archives of Sweden (Riksarkivet). The websites are explored to see if the First Peoples of each country are present on the material that appears on the websites, and if so, how it is mediated. The theoretical framework is a combination of postmodern ideas about archives and power and decolonizing perspectives. The reflections made about the research material in the light of decolonizing methodologies and thinking, is a way to visualize how archives work with these issues. The National Archives of Sweden does not have the equivalent work on their website. However, during the time of the field work there were indications that new publications and outreach material concerning Samis, are being approached in more nuanced ways than the existing pages on the website. - Esta tesis de Máster es un análisis cualitativo del contenido de dos sitios web pertenecientes a los Archivos Nacionales de Australia y de Suecia (Riksarkivet). Se exploran los sitios web para comprobar si los Pueblos Originarios de cada país están presentes en el material que aparece en las páginas y, en caso afirmativo, de qué modo se mediatiza. El marco teórico es una combinación de ideas postmodernas sobre los archivos y el poder y perspectivas descolonizadoras. Las reflexiones realizadas en torno al material de investigación desde la óptica de las metodologías y el pensamiento descolonizadores, es una forma de visualizar cómo trabajan los archivos con estas cuestiones.
