- This thesis examines the impact of recent global shocks, namely the Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, on food security in countries reliant on agricultural commodity imports from Ukraine and/or the United States. By

The comparative analysis of exporter countries reveals that the pandemic did not cause significant disruptions in agricultural exports, whereas the war in Ukraine negatively affected Ukraine's agricultural exports. On the supply side, the regression analysis of food security dimensions presents contradictory findings. While the pandemic had a negative effect on the food security of importer... On the supply side, the regression analysis of food security dimensions presents contradictory findings. While the pandemic had a negative effect on the food security of importer countries, the war in Ukraine had a positive
impact. These discrepancies highlight the complex dynamics and call for further research to gain a deeper understanding of the intricate relationship between
global shocks and food security. (Less)
