It focuses on how there needs to be nuance and fluidity added to the perception of safe repatriation. It suggests that voluntary repatriation is a disguise for forced repatriation and that research needs to further engage in the complexity of force beyond the conditions for a safe return mandated by the United Nations and the European Union. This research project also examines how research is reconciling international and Lebanese domestic policy on Syrian repatriation and the researcher suggests that there needs to be further pressure applied to the international community to move away from resilience policy aimed to safeguard its borders. It is giving permission to Lebanon to use the same policy framework in order to forcibly displace Syrians through a premature and unsafe repatriation. (Less)
