Abstract
Increased urbanization means the modern citizen spends less time in natural green spaces. Recent scientific research shows that being in nature can have positive cognitive, physiological and emotional benefits. The study looks at both if the respondents perceive positive effects when they spend time in nature, and how the respondents perceived effects towards being in nature affects their intention to spend time in nature. The study looks at a topic that has been heavily studied previously. It aims to contribute to further research by analyzing the topic using the theory of planned behavior. Theory of planned behavior builds on the idea that an individual's tendencies to perform a certain behavior comes down to three aspects: perceived... (More)

The study looks at a topic that has been heavily studied previously. It aims to contribute to further research by analyzing the topic using the theory of planned behavior. Theory of planned behavior builds on the idea that an individual's tendencies to perform a certain behavior comes down to three aspects: perceived control, subjective norms and attitude. Only the attitude (perceived effects) aspect of the theory is being analyzed by breaking it down into six subcategories. It is a survey with 28 questions (n=80) and the participants have been found through convenience selection. The data is analyzed using Jamovi’s tools for correlation. The results show that the respondents perceive positive effects of spending time in nature. Further, a small correlation (between attitude and intention and behavior towards being in nature) is found. Even if the correlation to intention is not high, the results do show high means on the perceived effects of nature interventions. (Less)
Abstract (Swedish)
Denna studien... (More)

(Less)
