The theories used to analyze the results were professional discretion and standardization. The results obtained indicated that detecting gambling addiction could be challenging, as it depended on whether the client wanted to disclose it or not. If the client did not share their gambling addiction, it might come to light later in the assessment in connection with factors such as the client having financial problems. Another highlighted aspect was the lack of knowledge about gambling addiction among social secretaries, which could adversely affect the assessment process. The results also demonstrated that a combination of discretion and standardization formed the basis of the assessment work. (Less)
