The paper aims to show how mental health affects children, after a diagnosis and/or a turning point in the person’s life and/or other factors in the person's life. This paper is based on a narrative analysis written with a qualitative research method, using a book and website Våga prata (Translation: Dare to speak) to find children's relation to mental health problems through their published stories. Using their stories and published materials such as research papers and articles, this paper is meant to show different aspects that have a negative impact on the child's mental health. Through the research and analysis, it was found that stigmatization has a negative influence on children with mental health problems and that stigmatization can lead to worsening the problems that mental health can come with. The analysis also shows that a sense of connection is important to have and that the sense of connection helps the problems go away to a certain degree. (Less)
