- Abstract
- The main purpose of this thesis is about investigating the possibility of integrating two information systems with each other. Namely Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographic Information System (GIS). In the construction industry, BIM has become increasingly user-friendly for both suppliers and clients. Something that has been previously missing is building 3D models on a map with orthophotos. Creating models today is nothing new but automating and integrating information in a flow between geographic maps and building projects is a complicated process. This thesis aims to investigate the problems connected to this integration in collaboration with Sweco, Digital Services in Malmö

- Detta examensarbete görs i syfte om att undersöka möjligheten att integrera de två informationssystem Byggnadsinformationsmodellering (BIM) och Geografiskt informationssystem (GIS). I byggbranschen har BIM blivit alltmer användarvänligt för både leverantörer och beställare. En sak som saknats är möjligheten att bygga upp 3D modeller på en karta med ortofoto, vilket är geometriskt korrigerade flygbilder. Att skapa modeller idag är ingen nyhet men att automatisera och integrera informationen i ett flöde mellan geografiska kartor och byggnadsprojekt är en komplicerad process. Detta examensarbete ämnar sig åt att göra en problemundersökning i samarbete med Sweco, Digital Services i Malmö.
