- Abstract
- This thesis examines the new review system of foreign direct investments in the UDI Act (2023:560). The aim is to investigate and analyze the background and formulation of this legislation. The study is conducted using a legal doctrinal method based on statutory text and preparatory works.
The findings of the study establish the need for a review system of foreign direct investments. Additionally, it highlights the positive effects of foreign direct investments for an export-dependent country like Sweden, while also acknowledging the risks associated with such investments.

Regarding the structure of the regulations, it is noted that the new UDI Act enables the review of foreign direct investments that may lead to security risks and, if necessary, restrict or prohibit such investments. Furthermore, the new law entails a specific review procedure before an investment where an investor, whether domestic or foreign, obtains a certain level of influence in, or acquires, a company engaged in activities of national security significance. - Denna uppsats undersöker det nya granskningssystemet av utländska direktinvesteringar i UDI-lagen (2023:560). Syftet är att undersöka och analysera bakgrunden och utformningen av denna lagstiftning. Undersökningen genomförs utifrån en rättsdogmatisk metod med utgångspunkt i lagtext och förarbeten.
Undersökningens resultat fastställer behovet av ett granskningssystem för utländska direktinvesteringar. Vidare framhävs utländska direktinvesteringars positiva effekter för ett exportberoende land som Sverige samt de risker som är förenade med utländska direktinvesteringar.
