Abstract
This study desires to display two speeches that were crucial to the 2016 EU-referendum in

The two speeches are applied to theories of analogies and also strategic narratives. Based on the theories the conclusion is that both of the actors used analogies and strategic narratives to their advantage in separate ways to make their voices heard and their message come through. They both referred to previous events to support their arguments. Although they were speaking to the same audiences David Cameron's speech was portrayed... (More)

Based on the theories the conclusion is that both of the actors used analogies and strategic narratives to their advantage in separate ways to make their voices heard and their message come through. They both referred to previous events to support their arguments. Although they were speaking to the same audiences David Cameron's speech was portrayed to the whole of the EU while Boris Johnson spoke more directly to the British population. David Cameron distinctly spoke of the positives about the EU and suggested alterations to the policies in comparison to Boris Johnson who spoke on the negatives of the EU and that an exit was the most appropriate response.
