- Bakgrund: Sömn är en grundläggande förutsättning för människans generella hälsa och ett
gott sömnmönster är grundläggande för att individer ska kunna utföra sina dagliga aktiviteter.
Detta examensarbete utgår från de beteendemässiga aspekterna av människans sömn.
Sömnmönstret definieras utifrån fem parametrar: sömnlatens, antal nattliga uppvaknanden,
totalt antal sömntimmar under natten, total sömnkvalitet och dygnsrytm.
Syfte: Att undersöka hur sömnmönstret hos universitetsstudenter på treåriga
hälsovetenskapliga program vid Lunds universitet påverkar deras studieresultat och generella
hälsa.
Metod: En tvärsnittsstudie med 128 respondenter. Data genererades via en webbenkät.

undersöka samband.
Resultat: Totalt uppgav 43,8 % av respondenterna att de upplever sin generella hälsa som
mycket god medan 37,5 % upplever sin generella hälsa som god. Angående om respondenten
upplever att hen får tillräckligt med sömn svarade 62,6 % att de sover tillräckligt medan 37,6
% svarade att de inte sover tillräckligt. Av de som uppgav att de inte sover tillräckligt var den
vanligaste bakomliggande orsaken stress, ångest och oro.
Slutsats: Signifikanta samband hittades för antal sömntimmar under natten och total
sömnkvalitet. Inga samband identifierades mellan sömnmönstrets parametrar och det
objektiva studieresultatet. Svaga till medelstarka samband identifierades mellan
sömnparametrarna och respondenternas generella hälsa. (Less) - Abstract
