personliga assistenters utsagor.
Metod: Tvärsnittsdesign med åtta semistrukturerade intervjuer med barn,
föräldrar och... (More)

Metod: Tvärsnittsdesign med åtta semistrukturerade intervjuer med barn,
föräldrar och personliga assistenter. Deltagarna rekryterades via den ideella
föreningen Glädjeknuff-Skåne som anordnar Joëlette-turer för barn med
funktionsnedsättning. En manifest innehållsanalys med induktiv ansats
användes.
Resultat: Upplevelserna av Joelette-turer var positiva. Tre kategorier
bredare perspektiv. (Less)
Abstract
Background: Activity and participation are important for health and wellbeing. A disability may lead to limited participation in leisure activities. The
assistive device Joëlette can be described as a one-wheeled wheelchair with
two handles at the front and back. Joëlette is used to enable persons with
disabilities to participate in tours in nature. Only a few previous studies exist
on similar assistive devices and only with adult participants.
Aim: To examine how children with disabilities experience fast-paced tours in
nature with the assistive device Joëlette, based on the accounts of children,
parents and personal assistants.
Method: Cross-sectional design with eight semi-structured interviews with
children, parents, and... (More)

Result: The experiences of Joëlette tours were positive. Three categories
emerged: 1) Different from a regular wheelchair, 2) The senses are activated
in nature, and 3) Feeling involved in the social environment. The tours
contributed to the discovery of new places in nature that were hard to reach
with a regular wheelchair, heightened bodily sensations which gave joy,
feelings of importance and participation.
Conclusion: Joëlette tours in nature contribute to the feeling of participation
and positive emotions for children with disabilities. More studies are required
for a broader perspective. (Less)
