Abstract
The aim of this study is to analyze how female reporters portray veganism in the
Swedish weekly press between the years 2018-2023. Through a qualitative analysis and a critical discourse analysis the result shows that the portrayal of veganism emphasizes its beneficial impacts on health, the environment, and morality. The health and environmental discourses are positive towards veganism and you can discern a certain skepticism towards the meat culture. However, the omnivorous norm is still dominant. You find ways to bring in vegan products that strive to suit everyone which indicates a positive outlook towards veganism.
