Abstract
This paper aims to examine which children's rights are discussed and highlighted in the Tidö-Agreement, and how they relate to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, as well as which children's rights are emphasized. The purpose of the paper is to examine whether children's rights are reflected in the policies of the Swedish government and the Sweden Democrats for the 2022-2026 mandate period. The study will use a thematic qualitative method where the analysis questions have been developed through different perspectives from implementation theory. Several different perspectives are used to create an overall picture of the theory, in order to create thematic analysis questions. The perspectives used are: Top-Down, Bottom-Up and... (More)
This paper aims to examine which children's rights are discussed and highlighted in the Tidö-Agreement, and how they relate to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, as well as which children's rights are emphasized. The perspectives used are: Top-Down, Bottom-Up and Synthesis perspectives and Hogwood and Gunn's model for how a perfect implementation should proceed in Top-Down policies. The study's conclusion shows that children's rights are discussed indirectly in all directives except the Migration and Integration Directive, and that the reform proposals in the Crime Directive are in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child as many times as they conflict with it. The directive that is most consistent with the Convention of the rights of the child is the Schools Directive. The analysis also concludes that the word "rights" is not mentioned in relation to children once in all the reform proposals. Therefore, it is not possible to compare how specific rights are mentioned verbatim with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. (Less)
