- Abstract
- When the Lisbon Treaty was ratified in 2009, the EU achieved a full legal personality. Meanwhile the environmental issue has intensified in its relevance and urgency, and the EU has capitalized on its possibilities to exercise supranational powers through directives and regulations. The central research question examines and analyzes how EU regulations exert power over the Swedish climate and environment policy. To reach the objective of the thesis, three interviews with government officials have been conducted and complemented by official governmental investigations and the 2024 report from the Swedish Climate Policy Council.
