förekommer i relationen. Den reflexiva tematiska analysen genererade tre
teman.
(More)

teman.
utvecklingsbehov, behandlar utmaningar i familjerådgivarens dagliga arbete
utmaningar med organisation och direktiv. Avslutningsvis diskuteras hur
(Less)
Abstract
Intimate couple violence is a global health problem. Over the years, knowledge
about violence has increased, which means that violence in intimate
relationships as a phenomenon has become more nuanced. Family counseling is
a municipal activity that offers support for people who experience difficulties in
their relationships. This study examined which positions are taken by six family
counselors in Sweden when it comes to working with couples where it appears
that violence occurs in the relationship. A reflexive thematic analysis generated
three themes. The first theme, Therapeutic possibilities and path choices,
captures the family counselors' thoughts about opportunities to work with

three themes. The first theme, Therapeutic possibilities and path choices,
captures the family counselors' thoughts about opportunities to work with
couples within the context of family counseling despite reports of violence. The
second theme, Sources of knowledge and support in each other, captures what
family counselors lean on in their work with violence issues. The third and final
theme, Balancing boundaries and guidelines, challenges and development
needs, deals with challenges in the family counselor's daily work, challenges
with organization and directives. In conclusion it is discussed how the
community care is designed with a division where violence is to be treated in
one place and conflicts and interaction in another and what consequences this
has for both couples and family counselors. Furthermore, the need for a
common language for the field is discussed, underpinned by existing and
hopefully future systems theory research, this to reduce conceptual confusion
and to nuance the concepts within violence in intimate relationships based on
the new typologies that the research shows. (Less)
