Abstract
The aim of the study was to gain deeper insight into patients' experiences of participating in psychotherapy at a psychiatric outpatient clinic where Feedback-Informed Therapy (FIT) was used. Seven participants were interviewed, and their interviews were transcribed and analyzed using thematic analysis, resulting in 27 categories and seven overarching themes. Participants expressed that the FIT curve was used as a way to objectively track their progress. FIT contributed to reflection and served as a starting point in therapy sessions. Participants described how FIT highlighted the need for changes in therapy and provided therapists with relevant information. They also expressed that making assessments was emotionally challenging and that... (More)

They also expressed that making assessments was emotionally challenging and that FIT could be perceived as taking both time and energy away from psychotherapy. The results also indicated various difficulties in the practical application of FIT and that FIT was perceived as less important in relation to the therapeutic alliance. (Less)
