From the subcategories, three main categories were formed: Feel responsibility to work with sexual health and sexuality but are hindered by lack of knowledge; Desires the integration of sexual health and sexuality into the work; Different personal factors of the client and occupational therapist affect the conversation about sexual health and sexuality.
Conclusions: There is a perceived lack of knowledge, but occupational therapists want to integrate sexual health and sexuality more into their daily work. For this to happen, more education and specific guidelines are needed. The interprofessional team has a responsibility to ask their clients about sexual health, and assessment tools can help facilitate this. (Less)
