- This paper examines the labour market effects of Information and Communications
Technology (ICT) at a sectoral level in a panel data setup. The relationship between ICT and human labour has been a major source of debate among both academics and policymakers regarding whether ICT substitutes or complements human labour. By utilizing data from OECD STAN, this study analyses 64 industries across 38 OECD countries from 2000 to 2019 to see whether increased investments in digital technologies have any effects on employment levels across industries.
