Although they manage water at the domestic and community level, their voice in decision-making is minimal, perpetuating inequalities and compromising the sustainability of water management practices in a context of growing scarcity. The methodology involved conducting semi-structured interviews around the Three Horizons Framework to gather comprehensive information on how women experience their involvement in water governance and what their aspirations are. A visioning technique helped paint a picture of the present and the ideal future. A Feminist Environmentalism perspective was used to critically analyze the sociocultural and structural barriers to women's involvement, which underscores the need for more inclusive and sustainable policies. These findings emphasize the critical need for female empowerment for effective and sustainable water governance. (Less)
