- Samhället befinner sig i en konstant utveckling med en oavbruten ström av tekniska innovationer. Artificiell Intelligens (AI) har på senare tid blivit en central punkt för diskussion och har väckt betydande intresse inom många sammanhang. Den ökade närvaron av avancerade verktyg, såsom chatboten ChatGPT och andra AI-plattformar, har agerat som katalysator och har främjat omfattande diskussioner om AI:s potential att revolutionera olika industrier. Inom byggbranschen har AI ännu inte fått en betydande inverkan. Trots att det pågår många projekt och initiativ inom AI är dessa ofta begränsade till småskaliga tillämpningar och har ännu inte fått någon bred implementering.

Den ökade närvaron av avancerade verktyg, såsom chatboten ChatGPT och andra AI-plattformar, har agerat som katalysator och har främjat omfattande diskussioner om AI:s potential att revolutionera olika industrier. Inom byggbranschen har AI ännu inte fått en betydande inverkan. Trots att det pågår många projekt och initiativ inom AI är dessa ofta begränsade till småskaliga tillämpningar och har ännu inte fått någon bred implementering.
I denna studie har möjligheterna och utmaningarna, samt implementeringsstrategier för AI inom byggbranschen utforskats. Genom en kombination av litteraturstudie och kvalitativa intervjuer har slutsatserna dragits och betydelsen av AI i byggsektorn har analyserats.
Slutsatserna indikerar betydande möjligheter med att använda AI inom byggbranschen. Potentialen för AI att optimera arbetsflöden, öka produktiviteten och förbättra säkerheten på arbetsplatser framhävs som några av de mest framträdande fördelarna. Genom att automatisera och förbättra processer som planering och design kan AI bidra till effektivare resursanvändning och minskad tidsåtgång för byggprojekt. Dessutom kan integration av avancerade sensorer och övervakningssystem, tillsammans med prediktiva analyser, bidra till att skapa en tryggare arbetsmiljö.
Trots de positiva aspekterna identifierades även utmaningar som kan hämma implementeringen av AI inom byggsektorn. Bland dessa utmaningar återfinns brist på kunskap och kompetens inom användningen av AI, motstånd mot förändringar inom branschkulturen samt en generell låg nivå av digitalisering.
För att övervinna dessa utmaningar är det avgörande att ha en välutvecklad implementeringsstrategi. Genom att ta itu med kunskapsbristen, främja en positiv inställning till teknologiska förändringar och öka digitaliseringen inom branschen kan byggföretag och andra aktörer dra nytta av de möjligheter som AI erbjuder.
Sammanfattningsvis visar studien att AI har potential att revolutionera byggbranschen, men för att realisera denna potential krävs det en strategisk och genomtänkt implementering. Med rätt åtgärder kan AI bli en viktig drivkraft för förändring och innovation inom byggsektorn. (Less) - Abstract

Despite many ongoing projects and initiatives in AI, these are often limited to small-scale applications and have not yet seen widespread implementation.
In this study, the opportunities and challenges, as well as implementation strategies, of AI within the construction industry have been explored. Through a combination of literature review and qualitative interviews, conclusions have been drawn, and the significance of AI in the construction sector has been analyzed.
The conclusions indicate significant opportunities in using AI within the construction industry. The potential for AI to optimize workflows, increase productivity, and enhance workplace safety is highlighted as some of the most prominent advantages. By automating and improving processes such as planning and design, AI can contribute to more efficient resource utilization and reduced project time. Additionally, the integration of advanced sensors and monitoring systems, along with predictive analytics, can help create a safer working environment.
Despite the positive aspects, challenges that may hinder the implementation of AI in the construction sector were identified. Among these challenges are a lack of knowledge and competence in the use of AI, resistance to changes in industry culture, and a generally low level of digitalization.
To overcome these challenges, it is crucial to have a well-developed implementation strategy. By addressing knowledge gaps, promoting a positive attitude towards technological changes, and increasing digitalization within the industry, construction companies and other stakeholders can benefit from the opportunities AI offers.
In conclusion, the study shows that AI has the potential to revolutionize the construction industry, but realizing this potential requires a strategic and thoughtful implementation. With the right actions, AI can become a significant driver of change and innovation within the construction sector. (Less)
