Denna rapport är skriven inom kursen ”VBRN70 - Brandteknisk riskvärdering” vid Lunds Tekniska Högskola. Rapporten omfattar en brand- och utrymningsanalys av Kungliga Dramatiska Teatern i Stockholm med fokus på personsäkerhet.

Analysen inleddes med ett platsbesök för att få bättre kännedom om objektet. Utifrån observationer från platsbesöket och tillgänglig statistik identifierades därefter flertalet möjliga brandscenarier. Genom en grovriskanalys valdes tre kritiska scenarier för vidare analys. De valda brandscenarierna är:

Brandscenario A – Brand i östra garderoben parkett
Brandscenario B – Brand i sittplatser parkett
Brandscenario C – Brand i sittplatser 3:e raden

Analysen inleddes med ett platsbesök för att få bättre kännedom om objektet. Utifrån observationer från platsbesöket och tillgänglig statistik identifierades därefter flertalet möjliga brandscenarier. Genom en grovriskanalys valdes tre kritiska scenarier för vidare analys. De valda brandscenarierna är:

Brandscenario C – Brand i sittplatser 3:e raden

Analys av brandförloppen genomfördes sedan genom att inledningsvis definiera
effektutvecklingskurvor och brandmaterial. Därefter användes värdena för simulering i FDS med mätpunkter för kriterier för kritiska förhållanden. Det genomfördes även en utrymningsanalys i Pathfinder utifrån identifierade persondata, gånghastigheter, geometrier och beteendeteorier.

Analysen resulterade i att en brand i sittplatser på 3:e raden medger god personsäkerhet vid utrymning. Däremot visas det att brand i parkett eller brand i östra garderoben parkett inte resulterar i tillräckliga säkerhetsmarginaler för att utrymning ska kunna genomföras på ett säkert sätt. För att säkerställa tillräckliga säkerhetsmarginaler för dessa har ett antal åtgärder presenterats för att förbättra personsäkerheten:

• Installera brandgasventilation i taket av publikdelen i Stora scenen.
• Installera detektorer inne i Stora scenen för snabbare detektion.
• Om möjligt förbjuda elektriska rullstolar i publiken, annars bör dessa placeras med större avstånd från publik med släckutrustning i närheten. Samt avstängd elektronik under föreställning för att minska sannolikheten för antändning.
• Samtliga dörrar in till stora scenen bör bytas ut mot brandklassade dörrar för att upprätthålla brandcellsgränsens integritet.

Om dessa åtgärder verkställs kan personsäkerheten i Dramaten med störst sannolikhet ses som godtagbar. (Less)

This report is a part of the course ”VBRN70 - Brandteknisk riskvärdering” given by Lund University of Technology. The report presents a fire and risk evaluation of the Royal Dramatical Theatre in Stockholm with focus on the safety of people in the building.

The analysis started with a site visit to gain more knowledge of the object. From observations from the visit and available statistics on fire incidents several fire scenarios were identified. These were evaluated in an initial risk assessment to select three scenarios for further investigation. The scenarios chosen for analysis are:

Fire scenario B – Fire in the seats in the parterre

Fire scenario B – Fire in the seats in the parterre

The analysis of the fire development was conducted by initially defining curves for heat release rates and fire materials. These parameters were used for simulation in FDS with devices for measuring criteria for critical conditions. Furthermore, an evacuation analysis was conducted from identified people data, walking speeds, geometries, and behavioral theories.

The results from the analysis show that a fire in the seats on the third row admits sufficient personal safety during evacuation. The scenarios in the wardrobe and the parterre however results in negative safety margins. To ensure the personal safety in Dramaten the following actions are suggested:

• Install fire gas ventilation in the ceiling of the audience section of the main stage.
• Install detectors inside the main stage for faster detection.
• If possible, ban electric wheelchairs in the audience. Otherwise, make sure electric wheelchairs are placed with a greater distance from the audience chairs, preferably with fire extinguishers nearby. The staff should also ensure the electrical wheelchair is properly shut off during performance to reduce the likelihood of ignition.
• All doors to the main stage should be replaced with fire rated doors to maintain the integrity of the fire cell boundary.

If these measures are implemented, personal safety in Dramaten can most likely be seen as acceptable. (Less)
