The dominant factors were those of the roles they had to perform during prostitution, the shame associated with being a prostitute, and that of self-loathing. The majority of the women questioned their existence. The... (More)

The majority of the women questioned their existence. The result of the study shows that these factors caused a discrepancy in the women's identities and made it difficult for them to construct healthy identities, both during and after exiting prostitution.
