The routines in child and adolescent psychiatry are more rule-driven compared to the youth employment center. To a greater extent, the youth employment center works more flexibly and adaptively in the way they reach out to young people with complex needs. One possible explanation may be that they have a smaller workload compared to child and adolescent psychiatry. On the other hand, they have more capacity to reach out to young people with complex needs than they do in child and adolescent psychiatry. The staff in each organization therefore have different approaches to how flexible they are in their working methods, encountering youth with complex needs in mental health. The interviewees at the child psychiatric care state that their current workload and working methods are unable to meet the needs of youth with complex needs due to their vulnerabilities. The care is not sufficiently adapted and does not have the resources for staff to work more accessible and flexible as they would need. (Less)
