The thesis found that the integration of sustainable development in the syllabi increased after the law forced Swedish universities to integrate sustainability into their practices. This integration was most prominent in the introductory course in economic history, yet it was also apparent in the introductory courses in economics and business administration. Introduction to Statistics and Business Law did not yield precise results. This increased sustainability inclusion in the syllabi can be attributed to the SHEA and the concept of sustainable development gaining momentum in the 21st century The study can be a basis for further research on sustainability integration in higher education, either exploring sustainability integration in an entire bachelor’s program or the whole curriculum.
