- Abstract
- This paper will examine the role the three most prominent Swedish actors of Försvarsmakten, SIDA and SCA had. This will be done by conducting a case study and examining the data that exists regarding the impact of the projects undertaken. The results of the case study shows some interesting findings, especially how both SIDA and the SCA were overall successful though there are some questions about how sustainable SIDAs actions in Afghanistan actually are. The study finds that Försvarsmakten did not accomplish much of anything and it can in part be blamed on the scale of their projects which were just centered on smaller districts in Afghanistan. In concluding remarks this study suggests further studies both of the Swedish role in the nation but also a broader examination of the other PRTs in a more holistic perspective. (Less)
