- Abstract
- The aim of this essay is to analyse six Vogue Scandinavia covers and their aesthetic in relation to the myth of Scandinavia and the Scandinavian aesthetic. This to grasp in what ways the covers reproduce and produce myths about the region and its aesthetic expression. With the methodological framework consisting of Roland Barthes semiotic method the six covers are semiotically analysed through denotation and connotation. This in conjunction with Barthes theories about myths in order to gain insight of how the aesthetic expression cultivates myths about Scandinavia and its aesthetic.
