This study explores the impact of local Swedish educational experiences on the integration of Syrian migrants who continued their studies after arriving in Sweden. Through a qualitative research methodology, including in-depth interviews, the study examines how language acquisition, cultural adaptation, economic integration, and a sense of belonging contribute to the overall integration process. The analysis is grounded in social integration theory, acculturation theory, and human capital theory, providing a comprehensive framework for understanding the multifaceted nature of integration. The analysis reveals that language proficiency is essential but insufficient for full integration, highlighting the role of cultural adaptation and the importance of supportive educational environments. The findings also highlight the critical role of educational institutions in facilitating language proficiency, cultural adaptation, and economic participation, while also revealing the complex personal and emotional dimensions of belonging that extend beyond traditional measures of integration.
