Abstract
During the last few years, wind power has become a highly debated topic in Swedish politics. The reason for this being a debated topic is among others due to municipalities often using their veto that stops the expansion of wind power. A lack of social acceptance is often mentioned as the primary reason for municipalities to use their veto. This thesis uses Maarten A. Hajer’s argumentative discourse analysis as both a method and theory, with the aim of discovering changes in the discourse regarding wind power between 2016-2022. Moreover, is Rolf Wüstenhagens theory about social acceptance applied for analyzing how the changes in the discourse affects the perception of social acceptance of wind power.
