Psykologers perspektiv på evidensbaserad psykologisk praktik - En kvalitativ intervjustudie.
(2025) PSPR14 20242Department of Psychology
- Abstract (Swedish)
- Evidensbaserad psykologisk praktik (EBPP) kombinerar forskning, klinisk

(Less) - Abstract
- Evidence-based practice in psychology (EBPP) combines research, clinical experience, and patient factors to promote effective psychological treatments. The present study examines licensed psychologists' experiences of working with EBPP in child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP) in Sweden through qualitative interviews. It highlights psychologists' perceptions of EBPP's applications, its possibilities and limitations. Three main themes emerged: (1) The importance of perceived professional autonomy to be able to work according to EBPP, where psychologists described the importance of freedom to adapt treatments but also challenges in balancing this freedom against organizational demands; (2) What happens to EBPP at BUP? where the psychologists... The present study examines licensed psychologists' experiences of working with EBPP in child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP) in Sweden through qualitative interviews. It highlights psychologists' perceptions of EBPP's applications, its possibilities and limitations. Three main themes emerged: (1) The importance of perceived professional autonomy to be able to work according to EBPP, where psychologists described the importance of freedom to adapt treatments but also challenges in balancing this freedom against organizational demands; (2) What happens to EBPP at BUP? where the psychologists highlight how lack of time and resources as well as organizational guidelines create limitations, which leads to an internal conflict when the psychologists feel that they cannot fully meet the patients' needs; and (3) The psychologist and the person, where the psychologists reflected on how their professional competence and personal experiences influence their work. The results indicate that psychologists generally view EBPP positively, but that they often experience conflicts between guidelines and patients' individual needs. The study points to the need to examine the use of EBPP and implementation of guidelines from a qualitative perspective. (Less)
