Abstract
The aim of this study was to explore how social workers relates to standardization within the Swedish social services and what opportunities and limitations they identify with a manual based work. We chose to interview social workers working with investigation in the Swedish social services or using the social services act. The empirical data we collected was analyzed using the theoretical concept of professional judgement as described by Bornemark. Furthermore, the empirical data was analyzed using domain theory... The empirical data we collected was analyzed using the theoretical concept of professional judgement as described by Bornemark. Furthermore, the empirical data was analyzed using domain theory as described by Blom and Morén. The results of the study showed that social workers found both opportunities and limitations with a manual based work. The results also showed that the social workers reasoned that their professional judgement was supported by the usage of manuals in investigative work. (Less)
