Bakom leendet: En kvalitativ studie om känsloreglering i restaurangbranschen
(2025) PSYK12 20242Department of Psychology
- Abstract
- This study examines emotion regulation within the restaurant industry, and its
impact on employees well-being and perceived work environment. Using a
qualitative method based on semi-structured interviews with seven employees
in the restaurant industry, the analysis explores how industry norms, job
demands and social interactions shape workers' emotional experiences. The
findings indicate that emotional regulation, particularly through strategies such
as “surface acting” and “deep acting”, plays a crucial part in maintaining a
positive facade toward customers and colleagues. The results also highlight a
risk of emotional detachment and negative effects on well-being. Relationships
with colleagues are described as vital for... (More) - This study examines emotion regulation within the restaurant industry, and its

(Less)
