(2025) PSYK12 20242Department of Psychology
- Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

- Abstract
- This study aims to examine the phenomenon of social support and whether it relates to the perceived job satisfaction of white collar workers in the private sector. The study also considers other potential influencing factors, salary and gender. The variables were measured through a web-based survey (N=78) and statistical analyses were conducted using correlations and multiple regression. The results showed a significant relationship primarily between social support and job satisfaction, as well as a weaker relationship between salary and job satisfaction. The study also found that social support is the variable that best significantly predicts job satisfaction, suggesting a link between the type of social support an employee receives and... (More)

The study also found that social support is the variable that best significantly predicts job satisfaction, suggesting a link between the type of social support an employee receives and their perceived job satisfaction. Furthermore, the results indicate that both social support and salary have a main effect on job satisfaction, whilst gender does not. The results do not show any interaction between the predictor variables. The conclusion that can be drawn from this study is that social support plays a role in how satisfied white collar employees feel with their work, and that salary is a less considerable, nevertheless, contributing factor.
