- Abstract
- Students' sense of belongingness is a vital factor for students' academic success and psychosocial well-being, but the liaison between lecturer and classmates mindset, student engagement in schoolwork and sense of belonging is still unclear. This study aims to explore if students' sense of belonging is affected by the class as well as the teachers mindset (fixed vs growth). The study is based on a quantitative survey study among 89 students studying in Lund. The results showed that the class mindset predicted the students' sense of belonging and engagement. Studiens syfte är att undersöka om lärarens samt klassens upplevda mindset (growth vs fixed) predicerar studenters känsla av tillhörighet till klassen.
