Abstract (Swedish)
(More)

Abstract
Within work - and organizational psychology there is a big interest in conducting research with variables such as communication, trust, job satisfaction and teamwork. However, we have found no research that investigates the relationship between these variables amongst cultural institutions and creative workplaces. Therefore, this essay aims to take on this unexplored area and provide a new perspective and act as a complement to existing research. The purpose of this essay was to examine whether there is a correlation between the manager's communication and employees' job satisfaction, trust, and perceived teamwork. Therefore, this essay aims to take on this unexplored area and provide a new perspective and act as a complement to existing research. The purpose of this essay was to examine whether there is a correlation between the manager's communication and employees' job satisfaction, trust, and perceived teamwork. The study is based on data from a survey conducted across 19 different cultural and creative organisations in Sweden, with a total of 73 respondents. The respondents worked at art museums, theaters, concert halls, dance - and theatre centres and other small cultural organisations. A correlation analysis was conducted and showed that there was a strong positive significant relationship between all variables; communication, job satisfaction, trust and teamwork. This supports all of our hypothesis for the study H1) There is a positive relationship between managers effective communication and the employees job satisfaction, H2) There is a positive relationship between managers effective communication and the employees experienced teamwork with their immediate manager and colleagues, H3) There is a positive relationship between managers effective communication and the employees trust towards their immediate manager. The regression analysis showed that the manager's communication was a good predictor of trust, communication, and collaboration. The strongest correlation was between the manager's communication and trust. The results were discussed with reference to previous research and the three communication styles; aggressive, passive and assertive, as well as the phase theory, process theory and theories about communication networks.
