Att arbeta med hygieniska tjänster – Upplevelser kring miljö och hälsoinformation

- Abstract
- Today a range of hygienic services exists and some can be found within the fields of beauty treatments, body treatments, hair treatments and other customer services. Unfortunately, hygienic services come with risks if not executed correctly. Shortcomings in execution can result in health risks. To prevent unwanted hygienic risks some precautions should be taken according to the Swedish Environmental Code (Also called Miljöbalken). To ensure alignment with the Swedish law it is of importance to look over the comprehension of the instructions along with its perceived availability.

In this study a survey was sent to companies located in Scania, Sweden, which offered hygienic services and was included within the earlier mentioned fields. The study aimed to find issues and improvements regarding health and environmental information within the fields. The respondents were asked about their perception of the information’s availability as well as their understanding and received help.
In the survey the most positive results were seen regarding the understanding of the information, followed by the information’s availability and lastly, available help. Almost every fourth respondent would like to receive more help when working with health or environmental issues. However, when looking at combined answers, one could see that a negative perception of availability, understanding or available help did not always result in an experienced need for help. The most help was wanted by those who worked with beauty or body treatments. Access to information seems to be more of a problem compared to comprehension of the information or help from inspectors, even though multiple answers said they wished for more knowledge among the inspectors. Detta arbete har inte till syfte att skrämma utan vill belysa verksamheternas upplevelser kring information i deras arbete med miljö och hälsa. Deras upplevelser kan hjälpa oss att förstå eventuella problem med dagens kunskapstillgångar och därmed ha potential att bidra till en säkrare vardag för konsumenterna. Upplever verksamheterna att det finns tillräckligt med information tillgängligt? Förstår verksamheterna informationen? Är inspektörerna behjälpliga?
I detta arbete har jag kontaktat verksamheter inom skönhetsvård, kroppsvård, hårvård och övriga konsumenttjänster som befinner sig i Skåne. I en enkät fick de svara på frågor gällande miljö- och hälsoinformation inom deras bransch. Frågorna gällde informationens tillgänglighet, komplexitet men också eventuell önskad eller mottagen hjälp. Svaren visade att dem flesta upplevde att det finns information och att den är begriplig. Nästan hälften av dem som svarade på enkäten tyckte att inspektörerna var något eller helt hjälpsamma med att ge råd och information. Över en fjärdedel upplevde dock lite till ingen hjälp. Nästan var fjärde person vill ha mer hjälp i någon form. Störst upplevt behov av hjälp verkar vara bland kroppsvård och skönhetsvård och relaterat mer till tillgänglighet av information än förståelsen av den eller hjälp från inspektörer även om flera nämnde ett behov av ökad kunskap hos inspektörer.
